About

Rules

A team consists of 4 players (on the field) and up to 3 substitutes. Companies participating with more than 1 team are not allowed to switch players from one team to another, meaning that players are allowed to play for ONE team only.

Old Boys
All players in an OLD BOYS team must be at least 40 years old by commencement of the Cup on Saturday 25th March 2023, and there will not be issued any dispensation from this.

All matches have a duration of 6½ minutes.

Timing of the matches is handled entirely by the referees.

We kindly (but strongly) request teams to be ready for their respective matches immediately after the previous match(es).
The winner of a match is awarded 3pts - the looser 0pts. If the result of a match is a draw, both teams are awarded 1pt.

Absence from a scheduled match equals losing the match, and opponents are automatically awarded the victory by 3-0 and 3pts.

All matches are refereed by referees from Aalborg Fodbolddommerklub, and besides the local rules mentioned on this website, all rules from Dansk Fodbolddommer Union covering football on small fields (with small goals) applies.

Important extractions from the rules
1: No player may deliberately play the ball by hand or arm.
2: When the ball is in play, max. 3 players of a team are allowed to be in the team’s own half of the field.

All doubts or questions as to the settlement of matches are exclusively handled by the tournament management and no decisions from the management can be appealed.

Choosing side of field
HAL 1: The team mentioned first in the schedule will play from the half of field situated CLOSEST to the dressing rooms. They will start with possession of the ball and also change shirts in the event that both teams are playing in the same colors.

In qualification-matches, possession of the ball by start of the match is determined by a draw made by the referee.

HAL 2: The team mentioned first in the schedule will play from the half of field situated
CLOSEST to the scoreboard. They will start with possession of the ball and also change shirts in the event that both teams are playing in the same colors.

In qualification-matches, possession of the ball by start of the match is determined by a draw made by the referee.

Decision of group-standings, if teams are equal on points
If 2 or more teams are equal on points on completion of the group matches, the following criteria are applied to determine the rankings (in descending order):

a) higher number of points obtained in the group matches played among the teams in question;
b) higher number of goals scored in the actual group matches.
c) higher number of goals scored totally.
d) Penalty kicks: 4 kicks for each team. If the result after 4 kicks from both teams is still a draw, the penalty kick will continue by a shoot-out with 1 kick at a time to each team, until a winner is found.

Decision of qualification-matches (KVAL) if drawn after full time:
If a qualification match after full time is a draw, the play will continue into sudden-death, without any stoppage. The referee will notify both teams during play, when entering into sudden-death time. The above rule does NOT apply, if matches are part of a qualification group.
